Peppers on the Point - change of brand name

Our communications strategy looked on a client's brand change as an opportunity to drive the business and grow the new brand. When 5 star lodge, On the Point, joined a leading Australian brand, the Peppers Group, we instigated a strategy to maximize the news communicating through all levels of stakeholders and media sectors including industry, trade and consumers.

Working with established accommodation The Portage Resort was a pleasure as one of our first clients. We knew that we were up against stiff competition. We were delighted to win their approval and then to delight them with our efforts. We worked closely with the key management team to leverage media liaison and efforts. The strategy on a project basis covers new management appointments, new developments and upgrades such as the opening of the Snapper Café.

Classic NZ Wine Trail Website communications

Reaching across five Regional Tourism offices the first major upgrade of the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail website needed to inspire and provide information. McManus Communications wrote the second website for this prestigious trail, which had previously been just a one-pager. We developed itineraries and day trips along this exciting drive from Hawkes Bay to Marlborough, checking off with RTO’s and balancing itineraries to showcase each region.

Waiheke Island Olive Festival is an annual artisan festival to celebrate the release of the current year's harvest of extra virgin olive oils.  McManus Tourism Communications instigated a change of brand name to align the festival more closely with the island  and the product grown there.

McManus Tourism Communications was responsible for the public relations programme developing media opportunities across national publications, specialist media to local publications and newspapers. Strategy was to attract gourmet enthusiasts to families on a day out. We sent releases and developed story angles in a planned strategy to achieve timely coverage for maximum effect. The result is a growth of festival goers year on year.

A whale of a time

Explore NZ - Auckland Dolphin and Whale Safari

Everyone knows there are whales at Kaikoura but how many know there are whales in the Hauraki Gulf?

Explore NZ, operator of Auckland's Dolphin & Whale Safari,  were seeking to gain publicity for the new schedule of cruises, and also establish recognition of the presence of exciting marine wildlife in the gulf's maritime park. McManus Communications instigated a strategy to cover both consumer industry and trade publications. The cost effective programme using PR as the key tool saw a result in advertising equivalent value exceeding  seven times the value of the investment.
